Our little poodle is just part of our family. Not only does she bring us a great deal of joy, but she has taught our children life lessons. For that matter, we've learned a lot from her, too. My kids had let the dog out the front door. I didn't realize it until they started screaming for him to come back. He had taken off down the road and a car was heading right for him. We watched in horror as the car nicked his back legs. He was alive but he couldn't get up. We rushed him to the closest animal hospital in Springfield IL. My kids were crushed.
